UK's largest online retailer Marks & Spencer announces the resignation of Charles Wilson, Executive Director for IT, Logistics and Property. Charles will leave Marks & Spencer on 28 October 2005 to join Booker Cash & Carry as Chief Executive.

Charles will not be replaced and his roles and responsibilities will be re-allocated in due course. The timing of his departure will allow Ian Dyson, Group Finance Director, time to fully settle into his new role.

Stuart Rose, Chief Executive, Marks & Spencer said:
"Charles joined M&S to do a specific job, namely to help focus the business and to deliver cash and cost improvements. He has delivered these and helped build a solid foundation for the Company to go forward. Our priority now is to drive the business forward in the key areas of product, service and environment.

"They would like to thank Charles for his considerable contribution and wish him well for the future."

Marks & Spencer have over 400 stores located throughout the UK, this includes our largest store at Marble Arch, London. In addition, the Company has 150 stores worldwide, including over 130 franchise businesses, operating in 30 countries.
