We are therefore right in speaking of a system family. This supports weaving shop personnel in assigning mixed machine groups with identical user interface and accessories and therefore in always using the most economical production machine for varying product ranges.
Both machine systems have precise warp let-offs with exact electronic tension regulation and filling density control. Both machine systems have high reed impact power gained from gears on both sides, also for large weaving widths.
Apart from that, warp let-off and cloth take-up motors can create high or low warp tensions and produce fabrics with either high filling densities or very open-mesh lattice patterns.
One of the primary advantages of DORNIER air-jet weaving machines is the high reed impact force which gives it a dominant position in technical fabrics against other air-jet weaving machines.
The technology is based on the DORNIER rapier weaving machine with gears on both sides and an extremely robust construction. Our air-jet weaving machines can process weaving widths up to 540 cm nominal width and therefore follow the market trend towards wider cloth widths without problems.
DORNIER rapier weaving machines work with rigid rapier rods which do not require guide elements in the weaving shed and therefore ensure gentle handling of warp ends, especially for filament yarns. Many technical filling yarns demand insertion with low tension and without tension peaks.
This is supported on our rapier weaving machines by a low acceleration curve of the filling yarn and on our air-jet weaving machines by a wide filling insertion window. The specific DORNIER open-shed filling insertion brings decisive quality advantages.
This ensures insertion of all filling materials independent of close of shed and without contact through the shed. Threads have the same insertion length and the same tension on the right and left sides of the woven fabric.
The extreme improvement in flexibility attained on DORNIER air-jet weaving machines is also decisive for technical weavers.
