NPD to promote Art Spar as VP, Apparel Client Development

Leading consumer and retail information provider The NPD Group has named Vice Presidents Ron Friedman and Art Spar to new posts. Ron Friedman, formerly Vice President of NPD Fashionworld Client Development, will become Vice President, NPD Fashionworld Product and Business Development. Art Spar will become Vice President, Apparel Client Development.
A fifteen-year veteran of NPD, Ron Friedman's new responsibilities will include overseeing NPD Fashionworld product management, marketing and research science functions. Ron's focus will be on the continued enhancement and evolution of the Fashionworld product portfolio.
In his new role as Vice President, Apparel Client Development, Art Spar will lead the integration of NPD Fashionworld's information source, AccuPanel SM, with NPD's complementary product offerings and will play a critical role in educating clients on the applications and benefits of the new panel. Spar will be responsible for the delivery of AccuPanel information as well as NPD Fashionworld Consumer and Point-of-Sale (POS) data. Spar joined NPD as Vice President of NPD Fashionworld last July when NPD acquired STS Market Research.
Both Ron Friedman and Art Spar will continue to report to Dennis Brown, group president of NPD Beauty, House and Fashion.
Dennis Brown, Group President of NPD Beauty, House and Fashion stated that in their new roles Ron and Art will strengthen NPD's research and customer service capabilities significantly.
