LIVE TROPICAL FISH meets ECO-sustainable product

LIVE TROPICAL FISH, an Italian Soul-Music-Band, presents their new album „ The Day Is Too Short To Be Selfish“ in a special edition that comes along with the original "Midnight Swim Shorts" made of BIOPHYL.

“LIVE TROPICAL FISH” is a soulmusic band formed in Bologna, currently taking their “handmade” music out of Italy into the world. They are successful in countries like the US, UK, Japan and germny. With their lively “true music“ played on live instruments and complemented with heartfelt and soulful vocals they pop into a time where people feel more and more drawn to real values. This includes an increasing awareness for the environment. Like a tropical fish likes to swim in a clean environment. People putting value on environmentally friendly and sustainable swimwear can purchase the special edition CD that comes along with swim shorts made of BIOPHYL, an eco-friendly textile product from ADVANSA, Europe´s Polyester Leader.

These so-called „ Midnight Swim Shorts “ were created by a team of Italian designers from the 'Paola Maltese Designer' group (Paola Maltese is a designer who specialises in intimate wear and beach wear and who has created collections for La Perla, Cesare Paciotti, Miss Sixty and Argentovivo). The shorts are made with a high tech knit from the itailan knitter Maglificio Moderno 2EMME. They can be worn as underwear, but at the same time they can be worn at the coolest parties on the beach, ready for a midnight swim.

Fabrizio Poli, press officer of the band: “The choice of the eco-sustainable material for the “Midnight Swim Shorts” is not random: the Live Tropical Fish affirm its commitment to the environment that starts their objective of raising awareness of marine eco-system defense. In addition we have initiated an investigation for a strategy to reduce energy consumption during the coming live tour.

BIOPHYL is an innovative ECO-Polyester fabric made with sustainable components, based on renewable resources and produced in biological processes. In comparison to standard polyester and nylon, to which BIOPHYL is an alternative, CO2 output associated with production of the polymer is up to 63% lower. This contributes to reduction of the greenhouse effect. A simultaneous energy saving of up to 30% conserves additional resources. Further energy savings during dyeing and finishing complete the positive image of this product.

In addition, it has the positive quality of absorbing less moisture than polyamide does; it dries very quickly, repels dirt and is extremely durable.

BIOPHYL received certification according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 with the highest possible Class 1, which also includes the category for baby articles, thus making it ideal for textiles worn next to skin.
