Significant increase in bilateral trade was registered with the opening of Italian Embassy in Bahrain three years back, Italian Ambassador Dr Angelo La Marte said.
He was speaking on the occasion of the 59th Italian National Day, being celebrated at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa on Wednesday, in presence of diplomats, government officials, members of the Italian community and others.
Dr La Marte informed that bilateral trade between Italy and Bahrain reached 153,000 euros, two thirds of which is Italian exports to Bahrain.
Dr Marte said, "The biggest exports are machinery and equipment, clothes, fabric and textiles. Bahrain exports aluminium-related products, hydrocarbons, footwear and garments, among other things."
