The US and China have started fresh talks to resolve trade dispute resulted by a surge in Chinese textile exports in US market, since ending of global quota system.
The bilateral talk would cover recent issue of imposing restrictions over seven categories of Chinese clothing and textile products.
China has recently reached agreement on the textile issue with the EU. Under the agreement between EU and China, It has to limit export growth of certain textile and clothing categories to 10 percent per annum by the year 2008.
According to a spokesperson for the US Trade Representative's Office, the discussions were held to sick a way to ease or avoid the market disruption, caused by the surge in imports from China.
The US has already imposed restrictions over imports of Chinese trousers, shirts, underwear and other items.
