According to China Customs statistics, in the first half of this year, Country imported the textile products including clothing and the raw materials worth of US $12.83 billion, showing a plunge of 5.95 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Of these, the import value of textile products was $8.33 billion accounting for 64.16 percent; for raw materials was $3.76 billion, representing 29.3 percent; and of clothing was $839 million, accounting for 6.54 percent.
China imports fabric, yarn, cotton, wool, clothes, industrial textile products and chemical-fibre raw materials mainly from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong. Of these fabric occupied 34.1 percent of total textile import value.
Guangdong Province stood first in the list of importers. The region imported fabric worth $1.789 billion, a rise of 9.96 percent compared to same period last year, representing 40.89 percent of total fabric import value.
