Domestic Converters, a leading Canadian seamless apparel company, has successfully implemented Centric Software’s product lifecycle management (PLM) solution for emerging enterprises, Centric SMB. Centric Software, based in the US, provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to fashion, retail, footwear, outdoor, luxury, and consumer goods companies.

Domestic Converters is known as North America’s premiere seamless brands group, producing performance athletic, base layer, shapewear, and specialty sleep and comfort wear under the brands Climawear, Know Me, and One Flat Jack. To collaborate more effectively across different locations and support the company’s growth strategy, Domestic Converters decided to invest in a PLM solution, according to Centric.

“We design in Canada, but produce in China with multiple designs, seasons, and suppliers. We only use seamless knitting machines for our production with a large variety of yarns and special effect designs. We used to use a multitude of Excel spreadsheets to track and maintain production. Historical product data and database information was spread out among these Excel sheets, and not easily accessible,” Kathe Plaskin, CFO at Domestic Converters said.

Following demos, Domestic Converters decided to implement Centric SMB, a SaaS cloud-based PLM solution for emerging brands. Domestic Converters implemented Centric SMB on schedule and is looking forward to seeing the results.

“Centric SMB is the best solution for our needs and budget. It’s the first PLM solution we have used, and we were impressed with its ease of configuration and the way we could set up and maintain a library system. We will be able to build and maintain an integrated database of our designs, fits, yarns and sourcing information, which will support our commitment to using recycled materials in our new lines. Having a single source of all our required data will support future expansion, and we also plan to connect suppliers with the system. We have a good relationship with the Centric team,” Plaskin said.

“We are delighted that Domestic Converters has successfully implemented Centric SMB on schedule. Domestic Converters is in an exciting phase of evolution, and we are proud to be able to support the company’s growth plans,” Chris Groves, president and CEO of Centric said. (GK)
