With 43 percent software revenue growth in the first quarter of 2008, SAP India, a subsidiary of SAP AG has reported the highest growth rates in SME software revenues of a single region for SAP worldwide.
SAP's leadership in the Indian SME sector has been validated by recent industry data. According to Praveen Sengar, Sr. Manager - Software and Services and Industry Verticals Research, IDC (India) Ltd, “SAP India has emerged as a leading player in the small and midsize enterprise space with 27% market share in revenue terms during CY 2007 in India Enterprise Applications.”
This industry endorsement of market leadership comes on the back of strong momentum built over the past year. This period saw 1,500 new customer wins, establishing a strong foothold in the Indian small and midsize enterprise market and a customer base that currently stands at 2,300.
The established SAP portfolio includes SAP Business One for companies with 10 to 100 employees as well as SAP Business All-in-One for companies with 500 to 2,500 employees.
“Our growing customer numbers clearly show that we have the right strategy of supporting small businesses and midsize companies in their quest for success and growth,” says Ranjan Das, President & CEO SAP Indian Subcontinent.
“I am confident that as we continue to foster this growth with our focus on the small and midsized sector, we will remain the trusted partner of choice for them.”
