J2 650 -Top of the line integrated touchscreen device for retailers

Specialist manufacturer of PC-based touchscreens, LCD touchscreen monitors and point-of-sale hardware to the apparel retail industry, J2 Retail Systems, has launched a new top-of-the-range integrated touchscreen device, the J2 650.
J2's co-founder and Managing Director, Moray Boyd, describes the J2 650 as “unmatched in the market”. He explains: “The J2 650 uses the most advanced PC technology to deliver the ultimate point-of-sale, point-of-service or point-of-information device for the most demanding user. It is our most versatile and high-performance integrated POS computer to date.”
In technical terms, the J2 650's main attributes are:
-Intel 965 high-speed desktop chipset
-Dual core for optimum processing
-RAID technology for complete protection
-Optional low-energy 'green' mode
-Base-, pole- or wall-mounting options
The J2 650's powerful dual core processor delivers the high sales processing speeds demanded by the latest POS software, whilst removing the need for a dedicated server. Thanks to the J2 650's RAID technology, business data is completely safe, even in the event of a hard drive failure. For added protection, an optional UPS allows the unit to operate for up to 2 hours without a power supply.
Continues Boyd: “We are particulary proud of the 650's 'green mode'. This mode of operation reduces the processor speed and negates the requirement of fans. Running as a fanless, machine, the 650's power consumption is cut by 25%, further reducing what is already a very low carbon footprint.”
The J2 650's styling and compact footprint make it the ideal machine for retail or leisure users that are space-conscious and require versatility of use and location. With all its technology in the 'head', it can fill the role of a counter-top, wall- or pole-mounted unit.
For harsh food retailing or food service environments, a watertight seal and intelligent fan technology deliver dust-free and spill-proof operation.
Thick or thin server configurations support the standard Microsoft operating systems along with the every increasingly popular Linux and, with a chipset that is part of Intel's embedded roadmap, longevity comes as standard.
