Virzi's winter 2006 collection with Chinese pattern

Stylist Marcela Virzi's inspiration could come from nowhere else. On the Virzi brand walkway we find powerful women with a 1930s silhouette wearing hypnotizing dresses, blouses and skirts with Chinese icons mixed in with Brazilian stones that dazzle with their brightness.

And since China is rapidly getting rich, there are tiny metals with dragons, Chinese letters and other references, such as the Beijing Opera, all in shiny gold.

These finishings are stamped and applied directly to the piece, or even more frequently, embroidered over black or olive tulle that like a cape, covers pants, skirts, sweaters, coats and dresses.

Satin or wool pants and shorts highlight the collection that also has plenty of indigo contrasting with silks. Little knitting and more crochet, with applications, of course.

Emphasis is also given to delicate dragon appliqués in long wool coat details. Despite the long dresses and fishtail or rear-tiered skirts, the pants called most attention due to the care in the design. Suede is also present with discrete prints with the same icons. Color chart: black, olive, tones of blue and gold.
