To produce yarn from the cocoons, Uzbek and UAE jointly opened a unit in Kyzyltepa district of Navoi.
Pioneers of this project are Kyzyltepa Ipagi, Samarkand Singapore and partners from the UAE.
This unit, named Malabar-Silk, will be capable of processing 120 tons of cocoons and will export half of those products.
The procedure of equipment installation at the enterprise is under way by foreign experts as the official opening of this venture will take place on the eve of Independence Day of Uzbekistan, i.e. September 1.
