Inditex bags 'International Retailer of Year' award

Inditex has been named the “International Retailer of the Year” in the framework of the largest annual retail congress, the World Retail Congress held in Berlin. The World Retail Awards recognize best practices in the retail sector globally.
The award received by Inditex reflects its global presence, with upwards of 5,200 stores in 78 countries in the five continents. The event was held at the History Museum in Berlin, and was attended by more than 500 personalities from the business and the retail industry.
The World Retail Awards are designed to recognize excellence in all areas of the retail business and highlight those companies deemed to be the very best in the world. The International Retailer of the Year category is one of the most important within the awards and highlights those retailers that have succeeded in developing a model to extend their brands and formats into new markets.
Inditex was the unanimous choice of the Grand Jury “for the way that it understands the needs of each country that it opens in whilst maintaining an astonishing consistency in the execution and quality of results”.
Inditex is one of the world's largest fashion retailers, welcoming shoppers at its eight store formats -Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Uterqüe - boasting 5.221 stores in 78 countries.
