Ross Stores announced the June and July openings of 23 Ross Dress for Less ("Ross") and seven dd's DISCOUNTS stores across 17 different states. These new locations are part of the off-price retailer's plans to add a total of approximately 75 Ross and 20 dd's DISCOUNTS stores during 2014.

In commenting on this growth, Jim Fassio, President and Chief Development Officer said, "These latest openings reflect our ongoing expansion strategy to fill in our presence in existing markets while also increasing penetration in our newer Midwest region where we added another eight Ross locations in July.  The seven dd's DISCOUNTS stores we opened also included initial entry into three new states -- New Jersey, North Carolina, and Oregon."

Mr. Fassio continued, "With these new locations, Ross Dress for Less remains the largest off-price apparel and home fashion chain in the country, with 1,194 stores in 33 states,  the District of Columbia and Guam, while dd's DISCOUNTS now operates 144 locations in 13 states.  Looking ahead, we continue to see significant future growth opportunities and believe that over time Ross can nearly double its existing store count to 2,000 locations and dd's can become a chain of 500 stores."

Ross Stores, Inc. is an S&P 500, Fortune 500 and Nasdaq 100 company headquartered in Dublin, California, with fiscal 2013 revenues of $10.2 billion. Currently, the Company operates Ross Dress for Less ("Ross"), the largest off-price apparel and home fashion chain in the United States with 1,194 stores in 33 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.
