Snapdeal's Amit Maheshwari is now Exclusively.com CEO

E-commerce major Snapdeal has named Amit Maheshwari as the new chief executive of Exclusively.com, the online fashion portal it acquired in February, according to media reports.
Prior to this appointment, Maheshwari was senior vice president - fashion at Snapdeal, and played an instrumental role in growing the online marketplace's lifestyle and fashion category into one of its best performing segments, Snapdeal said in a statement.
According to the statement, the fashion category on Snapdeal is on track to become a $2 billion business within the current year. Maheshwari's appointment is part of its efforts to build the website as India's largest premium fashion destination.
"Amit has been a core member of Snapdeal leadership team and the driving force behind the exceptional successes of our fashion business. In this new entrepreneurial role, Amit will be at the helm of Exclusively's growth," Snapdeal co-founder and CEO Kunal Bahl said.
Snapdeal had recently also appointed Animesh Sharma, former Wize Commerce executive, as chief technology officer of Exclusively, while Abhishek Passi, former VP - strategy of Snapdeal, took over as COO. (SH)
