Garment exporters to get cash subsidy in stimulus package

The Commerce Minister, Mr Faruk Khan, raised a ray of hope for the beleaguered garment exporting community when he said that a cash subsidy of Taka 25-30 billion would be up for allocation to the affected exporters in the country.
The Finance Minister, Mr Muhith also added by saying that it would be announced before the Prime Minster leaves on a official overseas visit and a committee would be formed to recommend the cash subsidy for each sector.
Among the sectors recommended for the cash subsidy include textiles, garments, leather, jute and jute products and frozen foods. Apart from the cash subsidy, the stimulus package would also have tax breaks and easier credit access facilities.
