Fabrics and colours, silhouettes and embellishments set the mood for the three part collection by Sanchita Ajjampur for Autumn/Winter 2007-08.
The look was pure feminine and luxuriously simple with shimmering silk jerseys in shades of lava and pearl combined with sexy satin and modal jerseys in malachite, cat's eye, sapphire, amethyst and kaleidoscope of cashmere jerseys.
Some interesting trims quite unconventional for women's wear were the jade and graphite crepe de chine along with cashmere knits and washed nappa leather, kidskin and gold coated leather for garments that could move from day to evening wear.
Sanchita kept the embellishments to the minimum just splashing a hint of glitter on shoulders, yokes, halters and collars of the simple shirt dresses, tunics, sheaths and empire line minis.
Her choice of glittering embellishments was very interesting as gemstones, crystal, and a mélange of embroidery stitches decorated the garments with dragons and warlike tattoo figures.
Accessories were perfectly styled and were an integral part of Sanchita's collection as she added on leather thong belts, totes with basket weave handles.
Some of the striking pieces were the malachite balloon top with tulip jersey skirt with glazed heels, an embroidered gold dust dress in modal Lycra with gold macro embroidery and black glazed leather heels, a sapphire coloured pleated mini dress with foil coated gold shoes and the designer ended with a glamorous chamois satin evening gown with Talisman gem embroidery and shoes.
For some head tuning clothes a Sanchita creation is a must in every woman's wardrobe.
