Shanghai Tang, the first international luxury lifestyle brand emerging from China, continues its quest to conquer the world's foremost fashion cities. In Spring 2008, Shanghai Tang will unveil its revamped retail concept in a new Manhattan boutique located at 600 Madison Ave between 57th St and 58th St.

For the first time in the U.S., Shanghai Tang will have a showcase for its new boutique concept. The new concept mirrors the brand's evolution in recent years and expresses the brand's dynamic transformation into a modern, international lifestyle brand.

“Since our debut in New York ten years ago, Shanghai Tang has grown into an internationally recognized, sophisticated brand but we have evolved without losing our Chinese soul. Our ready-to-wear collection offers modern silhouettes with innovative Chinese-inspired elements, making our pieces one-of-a-kind yet wearable for the most discerning luxury buyers.

We are experiencing phenomenal growth in Asia and are now ready to take on the world's most sophisticated and demanding shoppers in Manhattan,” says Executive Chairman, Raphael le Masne.

The new concept is decidedly modern, while keeping true to its founding aesthetics rooted in the vibrant art deco era of 1930's Shanghai. Bold silk panels in Shanghai Tang signature colors such as lime and fuchsia highlight the black lacquer fixtures with brass detailing.

“Our new retail interior reflects where our brand is today. We have experienced high double digit growth at every store we've remodeled, so obviously, customers are responding. Our designs and brand is relevant and innovative,” says le Masne.
