The 2nd season of India Intimate Fashion Week (IIFW) on April 22 in Mumbai will be a mosaic of fashion and intimacy. IIFW will provide a platform for emerging and conventional brands spanning categories of lingerie, loungewear, sleepwear, lingerie accessories and men’s innerwear. In addition, this year IIFW has a special show dedicated to plus-size lingerie.

Dr Mona Varonica Campbell, India’s first plus-size transgender model will walk the ramp as the showtopper for Melons India show. In addition to this, Bollywood actor Thakur Anoop Singh will walk the ramp as the showstopper for designer Rashmi Solanki.

Apropos to the gaiety that comes with the anticipation of hot days ahead, the collection by Mona Shroff and other lifestyle veteran fashionistas will add a quotient of the sprinkling of summer prints and vibrant colours of Lingerie to the collection.

"An unlikely new thought is coursing through the stereotypically superficial fashion industry. Through IIFW we mean to celebrate the senses and intimate positivity that translates to a carefully curated selection of lingerie. This year IIFW will also focus on the segment of inviting veteran industry experts in the jury to honour the proponents in the field of intimate, beach and bridal lingerie business," Niraj Jawanjal, founder and ideator, IIFW, said.

"We had a very successful first edition and are excited to be back with the second edition of the fashion week that is sure to be larger, grandiose and entertaining. Our endeavour is to continue to grow the Intimate wear and Lingerie fashion industry in the country. Still, in its nascent stage, the industry is poised for significant growth and IIFW being a pioneer in the category is set to lead the transformational journey. This year has also seen the fashion week go global with patronage by international brands and is set to provide high engagement and ideas exchange opportunity for all stakeholders - brands, customers, designers etc," said Amit Pandey, media head and associate partner, IIFW.

"Our social media campaign ‘Boo the Taboo’, 'The Right Cup’, celebrating ‘India Inner Confidence Day’ on August 27 on the International Lingerie Day was a huge success. We continue to stay focused on booing the taboo, building scale and driving conversations around the dynamic intimate wear category in India. This year gear up to explore a glistening starry night dazzle as you sashay down the red carpet," Pandey concluded. (RR)
