Andrea Pompilio's fashion show for New Performers

Andrea Pompilio will hold a preview showing his 2012-2013 fall/winter men's collection at Pitti Uomo with a fashion show on Thursday, January 12th in the striking venue of the Spazio Alcatraz at the Stazione Leopolda, Florence. During the fair, his collection will be on view in the Sala delle Nazioni in the Futuro Maschile area inside the Fortezza da Basso.
Winner of the 2011 edition of WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO, Andrea Pompilio is one of the New Performers at Pitti Uomo 81. Pitti Discovery is the driving force behind the New Performers project that offers new talents in fashion – and those who work with fashion's own mediums carrying it into different artistic and esthetic disciplines.
“I am honored by the invitation I received from Pitti Immagine,” says Andrea Pompilio, “it is a wonderful opportunity to present my look inspired by an 'American Sportswear' that follows the precise rules of Italian tailoring and blends men's dress codes with ideas from my own private world and experiences. “
“The runway show will be a 'back to classics' with thirty outfits worn by guys with a real life and original style. The collection, that is eclectic and rich in prints with the colors of my palette, will feature an important group of jackets, suits and coats in revisited classic materials and shapes, as well as well as accessories, footwear and bags”.
Andrea Pompilio has also produced a video in cooperation with thecorner's website that will be previewed at Pitti Uomo and on the net. The brand is making its debut on thecorner with the 2012 Spring/Summer collection.
The judging panel of “WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO” gave the following motivation for the award:
“A contemporary offering that is the result of careful studies of materials and shapes: a complete and mature project. A collection with an international look that is outstanding for its many inspirations that come from the designer's professional experience. "
"Through unusual details and a clever use of color, with delicate contrasts and daring chromatics, Pompilio creates a sophisticated look with quality content that is fully in line with what the market wants”.
The Pitti Discovery Foundation mission is to reflect on the relationships between fashion, art, architecture, communication and the short circuit that triggers off their interaction.
