French fashion brand Marithé & Francois Girbaud opened the second day of Bogota’s Circulo de la Moda (Fashion Circle Bogotá) with its latest collection for men and women.
Taking inspiration from the young American-meets-Asian ancestral concept of Amerasia, the label featured asymmetrically cut long garments decorated with rich embroidery and prints in coral, mustard, emerald and fuchsia for women.
The line’s menswear ensembles embodied the carefree spirit of a street rocker. Based on a mixed palette of blue, gray, black, white, orange, purple and red, the denim-based pieces featured photographic prints and illustrations.
Colombian designer Bettina Spitz also presented a fusion collection titled Barrock on the same day. Made of cotton, wool and cashmere, the black, ivory, red, grape, gold, silver, pearl and dark green garments featured embroidered shapes of hearts, flowers and animals.
Cosmopolitan fashion designer Kika Vargas invoked the true Parisian romanticism through her range Everywhere. Meant for hardworking, independent yet sober women, the line showcased jackets, coats, suits and dresses in lightweight fabrics like silk.
