Leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom opened the doors to its newest store at The Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township, Michigan. The 118,000-square-foot, two-level store is the company's third in the Detroit-area, joining stores at Somerset Collection in Troy and Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi.

Nordstrom at The Mall at Partridge Creek offers a well-edited selection of luxury and quality fashion apparel, footwear and accessories for women, men and children.

"We have an amazing team of people who have been working hard to prepare for today and can't wait to start taking care of customers," said Emily Paley, store manager. "We are excited to show shoppers the wonderful mix of fashion that Nordstrom has to offer."

In addition to a great selection of fashion merchandise, Nordstrom at The Mall at Partridge Creek features two food offerings; an espresso bar with outdoor seating and a Cafe Bistro. The store also offers a number of services to enhance the shopping experience.

These amenities include an in-store alterations and tailor shop, bra and prosthesis fitters, Personal Touch -- a complimentary wardrobe and shopping service, a women's beauty studio and a shoe shine stand.

Opening day started at 8:30 a.m. with Nordstrom hosting a tented beauty bash in its parking lot. Shoppers enjoyed complimentary beauty and skincare consultations and learned about the latest trends in makeup and fragrance. When the store opened at 10:00 a.m., customers were welcomed by 300 cheering employees as they entered the store.

Earlier in the week, Nordstrom held an opening gala that raised $90,000 for partnering charities Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
