Myron E. (Mike) Ullman III, chairman and chief executive officer, honored JCPenney's best-performing teams, including 125 stores and four districts, with the Chairman's Award, the Company's highest honor for performance excellence, at a celebratory banquet in Dallas on May 2.
"The managers and teams receiving the Chairman's Award delivered exceptional results in an increasingly challenging environment," Ullman said.
"These Associates rose to the top by always putting our customers first and consistently performing at a high level. We congratulate them for their outstanding achievement."
JCPenney presents Chairman's Awards annually to the top-performing stores, districts and other selected teams in the Company. Only the top 15 percent of stores and districts can qualify to become Chairman's Award winners, based on results. The following MAINE stores received the 2007 JCPenney Chairman's Award:
• BANGOR, Bangor Mall, Store Manager Joseph Klecha.
• PRESQUE ISLE, Aroostook Centre Mall, Store Manager Nancy Viel.
