Nina McLemore expands its sales through retail concept
Nina McLemore Inc announces the opening of its first test store in Tyson's Corner 1 in McLean, Va. Nina McLemore is a designer collection of women's clothing which is already known for its fine natural fabrics and hand tailoring, strong colors, and excellent fit.
Founder/CEO/Designer Nina McLemore has perfected the fit during her many private trunk shows so that almost all women can find jackets and pants that fit them. Consumers love the collection, the many compliments they receive, and are very loyal to the brand.
Customer service, style consultancy, and product information are key features of the company. "You have made my life much easier. The clothing fits me so well. I never have to worry if I have a Nina outfit handy," said Brenda Jackson, an executive with Texas Utilities. The collection includes Day, Better Casual and Evening, all designed as separates to be worn in many different situations.
Nina, who lives in Washington and New York, started her own collection five years ago for women who are senior level executives and professionals, women who are active in their communities, and who need clothes that are distinctive, elegant, colorful, high quality, and wear well during a long day or world wide travel.
Nina was inspired to design her collection after hearing from women left disappointed by the fashion industry's failure to meet their needs for designer level clothing. She designs for a woman who seeks clothes that fit her well, that are not provocative, that are reasonably priced and, of course, are appropriate for her lifestyle.
In addition, the latest economic trends are driving couture buyers to a collection that uses the same fabrics from the finest European menswear and Indian home furnishings mills, but at significantly lower prices. Nina McLemore's collection is primarily tailored in the best designer factories in New York.
The Company currently sells the collection through fine better specialty stores and through sales consultants in private trunk shows. Mary Gushee of Mildred Hoit in Palm Beach reports that her customers "think there is something magical about the clothes and they tell her 'When I put them on, I look and feel great.'"

Nina Mclemore grew up in Mississippi where she and her mother made all of her clothes using only silk, linen, or cotton. She founded Liz Claiborne Accessories in 1980 and was a member of the Executive Committee at Liz Claiborne, Inc. when "Liz" was the primary choice for young working women. Nina was previously V.P. GMM of May Department Stores International which owned the Hecht Co., and she co-founded Regent Capital Partners.
