 Pringle of Scotland launches Spring/Summer 2009 Womenswear Collection. Initially inspired by the colour palette and fluidity of David Hockney’s swimming pool series, the collection is one that is defined and dimensional; simplistic but not simplified; modern and sexy.
Splash and swirl graphic prints in hot turquoise, aqua blue, and smokey purple provide an artistic quality of colour to inverted dresses.
Open hand knits in chalk and ice, featuring directional decreasing cables, are paired with an engineered panel skirt and trouser, inspiring a fresh and light attitude.
In hockney water blues, an abstract oversize twinset dress with ombre multi-stripe inserts revisits the Pringle icon; a dusty rose cardigan and racer back tank are paired with a draped waist knit rib skirt.
Soft crepe tailored jackets with silk gathered inserts are worn with a feminine cropped trouser and structured skirt, simply enhanced with elasticated double snap belts.
A subtle play with texture, link stripe print dresses are dorned with artisan ruffled appliques, giving a three-dimensional and intricate look. Daywear consists of a juxtaposition of stripes; engineered skirts and trousers are layered with fine knits in clashing panels of vertical and horizontal lines.
A broken graphic block print skirt and ladder trimmed silk cotton double knit gauze vest offers a spirited and youthful take on casual dressing.
Translucent dresses of silk cotton gauze knit in hot pink and white are cinched with calf leather pierced belts. A series of crisp linen modern shifts in white, lightly embellished, offer a sharper option.
A silk engineered skirt paired with an embroidered shell is a confident and modern take for evening. Light taffeta t-shirt dresses in dusty rose and soft navy are adorned with abundant chiffon ruffled appliques.
