Chinese designer features among top Asian Fashion Designers Contest

The Sub-Council of Textile Industry (CCPIT) reported the Asian fashion designers contests results.
Chinese fashion designer Ju Bo was taken by surprise when it was announced that he was second runner-up in the recent Asian Fashion Designers Contest, held on October 23 during Singapore Fashion Week 2005.
Ju, a youth from Weihai, Shandong Province, who is a third-year student at the Nanyang Fine Art Academy, Singapore stated that to be frank, he didn't think of the result because I had been busy designing and tailoring my collection, and showing the models how to wear each piece of work backstage before they went up the catwalk.
The Singapore Fashion Week has provided a good opportunity for Ju, and other young designers, to shine, as the eyes of the fashion world looked on. The winner and the first runner-up were two young designers from Thailand and India, who mesmerized both audiences and judges either with their romantic treatment of textiles such as silk, chiffon and brocade, or with individual touches on the tailoring of ready-made garments and accessories.
Ju stated that it is good to find each designer is of a different genre, so we can learn from each other and get the whole trade moving forward.
Indeed, as part of the events of Singapore Fashion Week, designers have been in the spotlight, photographed on the stage where they display their talents with their new collections.
Dozens of designers from China's mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, as well as from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Turkey, Vietnam, and of course, Singapore, seized the opportunity to display their talents, in the hope of being snapped up by famous fashion houses.
