The L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) is proud to welcome international supermodel and photographer Helena Christensen to Australia for the 2011 Festival. Ms Christensen will appear on behalf of Specsavers in the LMFF Menswear Runway at Central Pier on Thursday March 17, 2011. It will be supported by GQ.

Specsavers is proud to bring Ms Christensen to Australia to launch Specsavers 2011 Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition. Joining Ms Christensen on the LMFF Menswear Runway will be over 20 of Australia's best male models showcasing the autumn winter collections from leading Menswear designers including Arthur Galan AG, Autonomy, Alpha60, Campaign, From Britten, Farage, Three Over One and Vanishing Elephant. Ms Christensen will be wearing custom made designs from leading Australian designers including Alex Perry.

Grant Pearce, LMFF's Creative Director is delighted bring Menswear to the LMFF Runway. “As the world's largest consumer fashion event, our primary focus is to make fashion accessible to the public. We have seen a strong shift in men's attitudes towards fashion and it represents a vital part of our retail landscape. It is only fitting that in 2011, LMFF has a standalone menswear show.

“We are thrilled to showcase such talented designers on the Menswear Runway and what better way to celebrate their return than with Ms Christensen walking in the show,” said Grant. The LMFF Menswear Runway will take place at Peninsula, Central Pier on Thursday March 17, 2011 at 10.30pm.

Helena Christensen – international supermodel and photographer hails from Denmark but currently lives in New York with her son, Mingus. She travels the world as a model and photographer, is an ambassador for the international organization Oxfam, for whom she documents the effects of the climate changes, and is working on several projects at the moment, amongst others creating lines for Habitat and lingerie collections for Triumph.
