The second day of New Zealand Fashion Week presented a variety of eclectic womenswear creations from a talented mix of young and seasoned designers.

Designer Lucy Kemp’s clothing label Pardon My French drew inspiration from 1950s and mid-1960s beatnik youth culture for her latest catwalk presentation which showcased gold zippered leather pants, soft berets, turtlenecks, oversized cocoon coats, draped skirts and dresses in shades of beige, white, black and grey.

The Auckland-based designer Lucy Mcintosh showed a grungy punk heavy range that included pleated midis and miniskirts, rose-print jacquard trousers and several structured fine cashmere wool made androgynous coats, jackets and blazers, and double-breasted vests.

Clothing label PIA by Pia Naera featured a cruise inspired range replete with shorts and strawberry, watermelon and anchor print tunics in beige, white chambray, mint and blush pink colours where as the Kiwi designer Andrea Moore’s Autumn/Winter 2015 displayed dresses, jumpsuits, striped faux fur jackets and coats in emerald green, beet pink and cobalt blue colours.

Juliette Hogan went all grungy for her latest runway collection. Decorated with bold floral patterns, the range showcased floor skimming sequinned maxi skirts, casual T-shirts and pleated feminine skirts.

Auckland’s Zambesi, owned by designers Elisabeth and Neville Findlay, highlighted soft tailoring and structured suiting techniques through its newly crafted creations which included soft woollen coats, chunky knitwear and cape style blankets in tones of black, cerulean blue, grey, khaki, olive alongside hints of mauve and lilac.

In addition to the ready-to-wear pieces, the second day also unveiled gorgeous bridal and groomwear pieces, such as lace, tulle and sheer made flower-girl dresses, princess style wedding gowns and natty tuxedos, from brands like Hera Bridal, Crane Brothers and Barkers.
