New look Nano-Tex team set to take on apparel, home furnishings markets

Nanotechnology-based textile firm, Nano-Tex, leading fabric innovation company providing textile enhancements to the apparel and interior furnishings markets, has added three industry veterans to its North American business development team.

The new hires will focus on driving adoption of Nano-Tex treatments within high-growth market segments in the home furnishings and apparel markets, including upholstery, linens, activewear and intimate apparel.

Marilyn Werner joined Nano-Tex as a Vice President of business development with a focus on apparel in the New York area.

Werner is a veteran of the fiber, textile and apparel business with 27 years of experience. Before joining Nano-Tex, Werner was responsible for developing marketing development strategies to gain brand adoption of enhancements from DuPont Textiles and Interiors. Her efforts resulted in the first adoption of Coolmax in ready-to-wear apparel.

Werner was also executive vice president at Danskin Inc, where she oversaw the strategic development of all marketing, sales, advertising, merchandising, and licensing activities for the activewear division. She also worked at Nantucket Industries Inc, Dawson International, Burlington Industries, and Kayser Roth Corporation in a variety of management positions in marketing, sales and business development. She is based in New York City.

Nicole Nelson joined Nano-Tex as a vice president of business development and will head the company's activewear and intimate apparel initiatives. Previously at Unifi, Nelson led product development, with responsibilities ranging from product conception to commercialization. With a background in chemistry, Nicole spent seven years creating new products for Unifi and has particular expertise in polyvinyl alcohol products.
