Uster's latest systems help reduce waste & contamination

In a case study done by Uster it was found that by upgrading to its latest variants, a spinning mill in Southern India has been able to control contamination in yarns, while number of clearer cuts at winding decreased 50 per cent for polypropylene (PP).

According to the Swiss producer of testing and monitoring instruments, a detailed report showed that PP-related cuts declined from 24 to 11 per 100 kilometers, while FD cuts reduced from 22 to 10 per 100 kilometers.

These results were derived by installing Uster Jossi Vision Shield T and Uster Jossi Magic Eye at the blowroom stage, while the Uster Quantum 3 was used for years on the winding and were compared with results from the earlier installed Uster Jossi Vision Shield at the blowroom stage.

It was also noticed that waste reduced by a factor of three to four or a drop from 100-120 kg per day with the Uster Jossi Vision Shield to 30-40 kg per day with the combination of Uster Jossi Vision Shield T and Uster Jossi Magic Eye.

“The Uster total contamination control system is a doubly-secure method for controlling unwanted material at both start and finish of yarn production. Only the unique combination of the Uster Jossi Vision Shield and Uster Quantum offers this security,” the company said. (AR)
