The Apparel Training and Design Centre in Hyderabad, the training wing of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), in collaboration with US apparel firm GAP Inc is offering a merit-based freeship for women students who want to pursue a one-year course on apparel manufacturing or fashion design technology, ATDC director Ravi Kishore said recently.

ATDC and the Telangana state’s Employment Generation and Marketing Mission (EGMM) are already offering training opportunities for unemployed youth in Telangana, he told a press conference.

Under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) of the ministry of rural development, ATDC is offering free residential training for students who have passed their intermediate examination in any stream. The eight-month course is named ‘industrial engineer executive’ and will be conducted at ATDC, he added. (DS)
