South Korean Tongsuh to add one more ACN line

South Korea- based Tongsuh, a major producer of Acrylonitrile (ACN) is adding one more ACN line to its three ACN lines.
The Ulsan based ACN producer currently has a current capacity to produce 315,000 tons per annum. Its line No -2 has a capacity of 70,000 tons per year and line No – 3 has a capacity of 245,000 tons per annum. Line No – 1 had been taken off-stream way back in 2009.
Line No – 4 which will be operational in 2013 will have an ACN production capacity of 245,000 tons per year. Once operational, total ACN capacity at Tongsuh, will leap to 560,000 tons per annum.
A company official further revealed to fibre2fashion that, Tongsuh has planned a maintenance turnaround for line No - 2 and No – 3 in the beginning of October 2012 and added that the plants will stay shutdown for a period of one month.
