Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine has named DuPont No. 1 in the materials sector in its recent list of Top 10 Best Corporate Citizens.  Earlier this year, DuPont was ranked No. 16 on CR Magazine’s Top 100 Best Corporate Citizens.

Companies are ranked based on publicly available information in seven categories: environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance and philanthropy.

“We are proud of this recognition because sustainable growth has been a driving force in our company for decades,” said Linda J. Fisher, vice president and chief sustainability officer.  “Today, more than 10,000 scientists in over 150 research and developments centers work with global partners to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges.

"DuPont integrates a spectrum of science disciplines to discover, enable and deliver game-changing solutions that allow our customers to develop more sustainable products for society.”

DuPont material science innovations are providing smart, sustainable solutions.  More than half of the world’s 400 million solar panels installed since 1975 contain DuPont designed innovations to boost power output and extend system lifetime.

The company’s innovations of renewable polymers enables lightweighting and helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels.  Advanced, lightweight materials to replace metal in vehicles are making cars lighter, improving gas mileage and reducing emissions.  And building materials improve the energy efficiency of homes and offices around the globe.

CR Magazine is America’s leading voice on corporate responsibility, providing case studies, analyzing best practices and tracking trends in the five primary segments of corporate responsibility: energy and the environment, risk management, governance and compliance, employee relations and human rights

DuPont has been bringing world-class science and engineering to the global marketplace in the form of innovative products, materials, and services since 1802.

The company believes that by collaborating with customers, governments, NGOs, and thought leaders we can help find solutions to such global challenges as providing enough healthy food for people everywhere, decreasing dependence on fossil fuels, and protecting life and the environment.
