Busan hosts Korea-Japan-China textile & apparel conference

The South Korean city of Busan hosted the third Korea-Japan-China Textile and Clothing Conference earlier this week.
At the meeting, China Textile Industry Association president Wang Tiankai explained the latest developments, including speeding up transformation and upgrading of China’s textile industry.
He fully affirmed the need for the three countries to exchange in-depth information depth about their respective textile industries to enhance specific cooperation amongst them.
He particularly listed four issues for interactive discussions between the three countries—free trade agreements, environmental protection, security and cooperation in the fashion industry.
After the meeting, the China Textile Industry Association, the Korea Federation of Textile Industries and the Japanese Textile Industry Alliance signed a cooperation agreement, and agreed to constitute a group of experts to strengthen the three countries to work closely together.
The next tripartite textile and clothing conference would be held in Japan in November 2014.
