Mr Ismy stressed that since Turkey serves as a gateway to enter the European market they cannot afford these anti-dumping charges, as may disrupt the performance of Indonesia's textile and garment exports. In order to streamline and avoid further confusion in trade, “We have prepared a data of local exporters who are trading products under HS codes 55.08, 55.09, 55.10, 55.11 with Turkey.”

Production value at the Indonesian market in 2007 reached US $10.06 billion, climbed up by 6.4 percent compared to previous year. But, in terms of volume a 2.6 percent or 1,830 thousand tons decline can be witnessed.

The available statistics further show that in the European market Turkish export decline by 12 percent or $1,650 million.

Indonesia`s textile and garment exports to Turkey accounted for 5.14 percent of the country`s total exports. Nevertheless, API deeply regrets levying of anti-dumping charges on their products.
