Compared to April 2008, industrial production output in May 2008 at constant prices, i.e., considering the influence of the price changes, has decreased by 3.1%, according to the seasonally adjusted data (the influence of the season and working days has been taken into account) of the Central Statistical Bureau.
Compared to May of previous year, in May 2008 industrial production output, according to seasonally adjusted data, has decreased by 8.5%. Of which in manufacturing there was a volume decrease by 8%.
The decrease in industrial production is related to the drop in demand and decrease of orders in the following economic activities: textiles and wearing apparel, printing, chemicals and chemical products and furniture.
Also, the decrease of manufacturing volume was influenced by interruption of enterprises' activity in separate economic activities.
