Textile & cottage industry fair to promote small scale enterprises

Textile and cottage industry fair made a kick start at Goalbazar in Balagani Upazila, Bangladesh on July 24.

This month long cottage industry fair is witnessing a remarkable participation by a large number of textile and other small scale enterprises. Mr Rafiqul Alam, Balaganj Upazila officer, inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.

Some 100 stalls have been set up at the fair and exhibitors are optimistic about meeting good response from potential national and international buyers.

Such cottage and small industries exhibition have become very widespread in recent times. Even Nepal will host a similar expo from December 11 to 15 at Bhrikuti Manadap, Kathmandu.

The fair will be organized by the Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI). The micro cottage and small industries development fund and export promotion board, supported by FNCCI and NCC will be the co-organizers for this event.

The main objective behind these events is to promote cottage and small industries and provide them with opportunities to explore new domestic business avenues as well as international arenas.
