Seminar on medical textiles for enhancing sector

Medical textiles has been discovered as a dynamically rising sector, the present estimated size of Indian health industry is around US $30 billion and is growing at 12 percent. As a result, the Union Ministry of Textiles will be organizing an important seminar on Medical textiles opportunities and applications tomorrow in Madurai.
VK Subburaj, Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, will inaugurate the event and textile Commissioner of Mumbai will be conducting this seminar that is expected to draw attention of entrepreneurs towards this upcoming industry.
According to available statistics, the market for technical textiles is estimated to be 16.71 million tons worth nearly $92.88 billion and it is anticipated to touch 23.77 million tons worth approximately $127 billion by the year 2010.
Medical textile products mainly include all kinds of fabrics structures such as bandages, plasters, gauze dressing, bed spreads, sutures and heart valves.
