Chinese garment manufacturer invests in Karnaphuli EPZ

M/s Blossom Textile Limited, a Chinese ready made garment manufacturing company has planned to set up a clothing unit in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ), which comes under Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA).
Sources informed Fibre2fashion that an agreement has been recently signed between BEPZA and M/s Blossom Textile. The Chinese company will be making an investment of around Tk340 million for setting up garment plant, the construction for which will begin soon in Karnaphuli EPZ.
The 100 percent foreign owned company will manufacture trendy t-shirts, polo shirts, trousers and jackets will be produced here for export purposes. It is assumed that, once the factory starts its operations it will create job opportunities for nearly 2,000 local people and almost 50 foreigners.
The agreement was inked in the presence of Mr Prasanta Bhushan Barua, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Mr Achmad Salkhu, Operation Manager, M/s Blossom Textile Limited on behalf of their organizations in BEPZA Complex, Dhaka.
