Textile & apparel exports acquires slow growth rate in November

Although in November, exports of Vietnamese textile and garment products has been witnessing slow growth at its two biggest markets the US and EU, a strong growth can be seen in Taiwan, ASEAN countries and Canada and especially the export to Japan is showing promising signs.
Official statistics of Ministry of Industry and Trade show that the export value of Vietnam's textile and garment products reached US $690 million in November, down 8.36 percent compared to October but up 1.32 percent against corresponding period of previous year.
In total, during the period from January to November Vietnam earned $8.287 billion from exporting textile and garment products, up 17.7 percent year-on-year, nearing to 87 percent of the whole year export target.
In these 11 months, the export value to the US market reached $4.66 billion, up 14.82 percent on year; to the EU it was nearly $1.53 billion, an increase of 13.61 percent. Earnings from Taiwan and ASEAN market soared by 76 and 24 percent respectively year-on-year.
Textile and garment products exported to Japan experienced a growth of 14.9 percent, valued at $740.9 million. It is expected that export will grow strongly in this market since the effect of AJCEP.
