China's cotton production monitoring & warning project team of the China Cotton Association conducts monitoring of harvest and delivery progress through fixed points and fixed operators, covering 2,200 farmers in 73 counties, 11 cotton-producing provinces and autonomous regions.
Recent monitoring results showed that after the state started and continued purchase and set the minimum price for cotton purchase in December, seed cotton price rebounded slightly, which has led to a increased enthusiasm from farmers. According to reports, overall cotton delivery progress of the country was close to 70 percent, but still 15 percent slower than the same time last year.
Since the beginning of December, the state procurement plan has increased its purchases leading to a stabilization of cotton prices. On December 22, the state issued a notification for the third purchase plan of 1.5 million tons cotton and setting the price at not less than 2.6 Yuan per kg.
