Exports & imports from textile sector in Jan-Nov '08

Vinatex recently released statistical data pertaining to the imports and exports from the textile and garment industry in Vietnam in the period January to November 2008. The export turnover during the eleven month period was US $8.28 billion while the imports figures touched $7.44 billion.
Of the exports turnover amount, exports to the US stood at top with $4.66 billion (accounting for 57.99%); Japan $740.924 million (accounting for 9.21%) and Germany with $351.937 million (accounting for 3.63%).
With regards to imports, China is the biggest supplier of textile and garment products during the period totaling to $1.875 billion (accounting for 50.70%), countries in ASEAN $525.065 million (14.20%) and Japan $444.444 million (12.02%).
