Times Square Center (TSC), the newest community oriented shopping center in Dubai, has announced that it will be holding a special Night Souk on February 13, 2009, from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm, which will give visitors a different kind of shopping experience by displaying special handcrafted items like jewellery and accessories. The event will also feature contemporary artwork from members of the Artisans of the Emirates (ARTE) group.

Held by TSC every month, the February edition of the special Night Souk is part of the mall's list of activities for the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). Giving the Night Souk a literary dimension will be the return of the second-hand book sale organised by the animal welfare and charity group Feline Friends.

Pierre Issa, Director for Operations, Sharaf Group, said “With the excitement of the DSF already in full swing, Times Square Center is eager to give our shoppers a varied experience with the opening of the Special Night Souk. We are proud to have the members of the Artisans of the Emirates at Times Square Center and we believe that events such as these could go a long way in serving as a platform to highlight the skills and talent of UAE-based artisans. ”

The stalls featuring the works of members of the ARTE group are a major highlight during the Night Souk. The ARTE stalls will feature hand made items like decorations, individualist pieces of jewellery, accessories, artwork and photography. Dmonstrations will also be made in knitting and embroidery by ARTE members.
