Chinese benzene prices firm

In the Asian markets, benzene market rose US $6 over the previous trading day to close at $977-980 / ton (FOB Korea), yesterday.
In China, domestic benzene market was firm, market price in East China ranged between 7300-7350 Yuan / ton, in South China it stood at 7200-7300 Yuan / ton and in North China it was quoted at 7200-7300 Yuan / ton.
Although oil prices have softened, overseas offers rose, downstream styrene market moved higher and Chinese benzene prices looked firm, holders were reluctant sellers, offers were less, the market was covered with strong wait-and-see atmosphere, transactions were limited.
Market participants expect that domestic pure benzene market will be based on consolidation in short term, but the trend may get better.
