Poland's business climate dips across most sectors in Dec

Poland’s general business climate indicators for December 2023 are reported to be at similar or lower levels compared to November, signalling a cautious or negative perception amongst business entities. Except for retail trade, all surveyed sectors' business climate indicators are below their long-term mean, as per Statistics Poland.

The sector-specific indicators highlight the variations across industries. Manufacturing, a key sector for the Polish economy, reported a significant drop in its business climate indicator from minus 12.1 in November to minus 14.4 in December.

Similarly, wholesale trade experienced a decline, although less severe, from minus 0.9 to minus 2.1 over the same period. Retail trade, somewhat resilient, still showed a decrease in the business climate indicator, moving from minus 0.2 to minus 1.9, Statistics Poland said in a statement.
