Preferred Market Solutions chosen to run loyalty program

MC Sports, a major sporting goods retailer in the Midwest, has chosen Preferred Market Solution's PatronFlex technology as the loyalty backbone for their existing WinDSS point of sale systems. “With newspaper circulation on the decline and media becoming increasing fragmented, we needed the ability to communicate and market directly to our best customers and Preferred Market Solutions gave us the ability to do just that,” stated Ed Rix, VP of Marketing and Advertising for MC Sports.

In early August 2009, MC Sports launched Active Rewards, a rewards program powered by PatronFlex, across their chain of 80 stores. “Within days of rolling out the program, we were rewarding our best customers with special discounts, gift certificates, and unique offers,” said Ed.

“With over 80 plus stores in seven states, MC Sports needed a full featured loyalty solution that not only could be integrated with their WinDSS system, but had the flexibility to meet both their current and future needs,” said Brett Perlman, managing partner, Preferred Market Solutions.

“The integration with WinDSS went superbly and allowed MC Sports the ability to capitalize on the powerful features found in our PatronFlex backoffice suite. Whether they wanted to use the automated promotion manager to send personalized emails to their customers or access the myriad of real-time reports, our focus was to ensure the integration kept true to our product's core design; ease of use and feature richness,” said Brett.

PatronFlex is giving MC Sports a whole new insight into their customers. “Through PatronFlex's suite of reports and their ability to develop custom reports for us, we are quickly developing a good understanding of who our better customers are and how they shop our stores”, said Ed. “We believe Active Rewards powered by PatronFlex creates a competitive advantage for MC Sports and is essential to how we will market to our customers in the future.”

Founded in 2004, Preferred Market Solutions is a leading provider of gift card and loyalty marketing software, products and services. The company offers cutting-edge customer retention and marketing tools to resellers and clients world-wide.

Built on a foundation of customer service, MC Sports has been outfitting athletes with authentic, brand name sports equipment, footwear, and apparel since 1946. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the company operates 80 stores throughout the Midwest and is one of the few remaining privately held sporting goods chains in the industry.
