The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) announced the opening of its operations in India. It is expanding the availability of its certifications for individuals and organizations in India are growing technology industry.
Areas covered under these 11 certification programs include computer hardware, networking, servers, Internet, electronic business, project management, training, Linux, security, home technology, and document imaging.
In addition, to address the increasing need for skilled integrators for radio frequency identification (RFID) networks, CompTIA on March 28 is schedule to launch the world's first RFID certification.
This new certification will be an internationally recognized validation of the technical knowledge required of RFID professionals.
Thomson Prometric, a global leader in technology-enabled testing and assessment services, will deliver CompTIA certification exams in India.
“As a global trade association for the technology industry, CompTIA works with IT industry leaders in many countries to help them solve workforce skills issues and other matters affecting our industry,” said John Venator, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA. “We aim to share this global experience with key stakeholders in the Indian IT industry.”
“For technology to be implemented properly and profitably, a skilled, trained and certified IT workforce is required,” said Steve Gilroy, vice president, international sales and marketing, CompTIA.
