As consumers are turning more and more environmentally conscious, the emerging threat of microplastic pollution caused by washing synthetic clothing is going to have a big impact on people choosing quality, natural knitwear over cheaper, environmentally toxic alternatives, according to Mike Lester, chief executive officer of UK lifestyle brand WoolOvers.

The company, designing and selling natural knitwear since 1989, sources fibres from Australia, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, Italy, the United Kingdom and China. Lester told Fibre2Fashion in an interview.
