Future Group, which runs retail stores across India under various formats, aims to grow its fashion business to Rs 12,000 crore in the current fiscal. Of this, Rs 3500 crore will be the revenues of Central, a lifestyle departmental store owned by it. The group has opened first Central departmental store in Kolkata and plans 15 more outlets across India.
"Revenue from the fashion business is targeted to touch Rs 12,000 crore in the current financial year. Out of which Rs 3500 crore will come from the revenues of Central, a lifestyle departmental store owned by the group", CEO of Future Group Kishore Biyani told mediapersons in Kolkata.
The group has opened its first Central departmental store in Kolkata and plans to open 15 more such outlets across the country by the end of this financial year, taking the total number of stores to 50.
A second Central store was expected to come up at the Metro cinema building, now closed, in the heart of the city. Since the building had been accorded the heritage status, the facade would remain unchanged, Biyani said.
In collaboration with the West Bengal government, the group would open 'Biswa Bangla' outlets at all Central stores across the country, he said. An outlet of Biswa Bangla had already been opened in the first Central store in Kolkata.
The group also operates fashion stores across formats like FBB and Brand Factory. (SV)
