Textile Minister inaugurates Apparel Mart

Shri Vijay Agarwal, Chairman-AEPC quoted, “A first-of-its-kind in the India, Apparel House exists with the specific aim to facilitate the ever-growing market of apparels. It is fully integrated multiplex of showrooms and exhibition areas and will become a sourcing hub for all international apparel buyers”.
He also thanked the Union Minister, Secretary (Textiles), AS&FA & other senior officers for their presence.
Apparel Export Promotion Council takes up exporters' issues with the Government and informs exporters about various facilities provided by the Government.
The Council is also planning to adopt a new image of being a One-Stop Shop for resolution of all issues of apparel manufacturers exporters or merchant exporters.
Chairman-AEPC informed that Council has extended new services to its members. “Export Performance Certificates have been issued to 1150 exporters last year and 577 exporters this year for duty free import of trimmings and embellishments & to increase exports of value-added garments. The service of issuance of Certificate of Origin has now been provided with from 24 locations in India” he said.
“7 new Apparel Training and Design Centers have been opened, now totaling 13, which roll-out 6000 students each year. Special training courses have been conducted for 1800 candidates under OBC category”, Chairman AEPC informed.
“Participation in fairs, Hong Kong Fashion Week, Hong Kong has been increased to 120 booths from earlier 65 booths”, Shri Aggarwal said.
